California Park Passes
Get Out & Explore California’s State Parks
In partnership with the California State Library and California State Parks, Downey City Library is offering free State Parks vehicle day-use passes to our library card holders. With the California State Library Parks Pass, you can visit over 200 participating state park units operated by State Parks.
The Parks Pass entitles the user to a free vehicle day-use entry for one passenger vehicle with capacity of nine people or less or one highway-licensed motorcycle at over 200 participating state park units.
Currently, there is a waitlist for the Parks Pass. Visit the Borrow A Pass link to get on the waitlist for the pass.
Pass Terms:
The Park Pass is valid is valid only at participating State Park Units. See the map of the participating state park units for details.
Park Passes are valid at over 200 participating state park units. The pass will not be honored at state park units operated by federal or local government and private agencies or concessionaires, or at parks that do not require a vehicle day-use pass, such as marine areas or kayak-in parks.
The Park Pass is valid for entry of one passenger vehicle with a capacity of nine people or less, or one highway licensed motorcycle at participating state park units.
The Park Pass is not valid for per-person entry or tour fees (such as museums), boat use, camping, group use or sites, special events, additional/extra vehicle fees, sanitation disposal use or for supplemental fees.
Circulation Guidelines:
In order to ensure that everyone gets to use our Park Passes, the library has established these guidelines:
Park Passes can only be checked out by adult library cardholders
One Park Pass may be checked out per family/group
Park Passes must be picked up within 4 business days from notification
Checkout period is 2 weeks
Passes cannot be renewed
