 FAQs

  • If you don’t have a library card and either don’t qualify for one or want to apply for one, you can get a day pass instead to use for that day.

  • For everyone’s safety, a maximum of 4 people can be in a study room at any one time.

  • Because there’s usually a wait list of people wanting to use a room, we limit study room use to two hours per day. If you need more time, ask one of our staff member and, depending on availability, we might be able to extend your time.

  • No reservations are allowed at this time. All room requests have to be made day-of, requests for tomorrow or next week can’t be made.

  • Due to demand, individuals and groups can request a room only once a day. That means if a group of 4 request a room, no one in that group will be able to request a room until the next day. In addition, everyone is allowed a maximum of 4 sessions in total every two weeks/14 days.

  • The walls of the study rooms are not soundproofed. While talking and audio from laptops, cell phones, and other electronic devices are allowed, sound levels have to be kept low so as not to disturb anyone else in the library.

  • Anyone under the age of 13 needs a parent/guardian to request a room. Anyone 13 or under also need to be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times while in a room.

  • You can temporary leave your room for any reason, such as using the bathroom or grabbing something from your car. If you’re not back within 15 minutes, however, we’ll assume you’ve finished your session and consider the room available for the next member. Anything you leave behind in the room will be taken to the library’s lost and found.

  • Because the person who requests the room is responsible for the room, you have to be present at the start and for most if not all of the session period. If you can’t be there until the end, you can assign someone else in the group to be responsible for the room.

In addition, being more than 10 minutes late for your requested time will mean you lose your request for the room.
